Each year by end of July there is the “longest weekend in the world” the Great Fete which started originally with the Great Race. Nowadays this race is surrounded by several music festivals at the picturesque Pigeon Point Beach. A spicy Soca Night followed by Reggae on the Beach and highlighted by the “Wet Fete”.

This promising party was born out of the celebrations surrounding the annual power boat racing event. The best parties were to be found at Pigeon Point beach and they came to overshadow the race itself.
